Aniqa Qadir,

Founder and Teacher

she/her

Hi, I’m Aniqa! I’ve been playing music in Toronto, ON for over a decade and still can’t get enough of sharing art with anyone and everyone who will let me. I’ve got my BFA with Honours from York University, specializing in jazz, world music, avant-garde, and contemporary improvisation. In my time as an artist so far, I’ve had the pleasure of recording, performing, teaching, writing, arranging, and producing music for countless projects, from live bands to soundtracks and commissions. I started this school with the hope that we can all share the art that inspires, surprises, excites, entertains, and challenges us. Come play!

I teach voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, theory, and songwriting.

Stephanie Woulfe,

Teacher

she/her

Hi, I’m Stephanie! I’m a passionate and energetic musician, songwriter and artist. I write songs, play electric guitar and sing with my rock band, Sunlust. I started playing piano at a young age, and as I started to fall in love with rock and alternative music, I learned to play guitar as well as electric bass. I like to approach music with open-mindedness, playfulness and curiosity, and I am always striving to grow and learn new things, and share my excitement for music with the people around me.

I teach guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano.

Availability: Fully booked, but waitlist open.

Vic Ostrovsky, Teacher

they/them

Hi, I'm Vic! I compose, produce, score short films, and perform in local bands and improvised jazz ensembles. As an educator, I hope to share the knowledge I've gained from years of instrumental training, deep listening, and collaborative playing in various settings. With a decade of experience teaching students of all ages—and of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced—I approach each and every student uniquely, tailoring my teaching style to adapt to their needs. I am particularly excited about introducing students to the practice of improvisation, as it empowers newcomers with a sense of accomplishment and freedom in their playing. I also cherish the opportunity to expand a student's repertoire, and to introduce a wide variety of styles that can spark their curiosity in music.

I teach piano, bass, drums, guitar (beginner to intermediate), theory, and songwriting.

Daniel Walsh, Teacher

he/him

Hello, I'm Dan! I've been playing music professionally around the GTA for the last 14 years and have been playing music for over 20 years. I studied jazz guitar at York University though a lot of my career has been centered around performing on trombone, tuba, bass and voice. I run a few of my own bands and play with many as a sideman. Given how many instruments I play and that I tend to support other musicians' acts, I have experience in jazz, many styles of latin music, funk, pop, folk, rock, metal, electronic music, avant garde music, theatre, and plenty more.

I teach guitar, bass, brass (trumpet, trombone, tuba, baritone), voice, improvisation, and theory.
